About Alex Oliveira
Born on February 21, 1988 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Alex Oliveira "Cowboy" competes as a welterweight mixed martial artist. At 5' 11", Oliveira has a 76" reach, long for that height.
Oliveira has fought professionally since 2011, debuting with Ervalia Fight. An 11-2 record outside the UFC came first. Oliveira first fought in the UFC at UFC Fight Night: Maia vs LaFlare in March 2015 and lost to Gilbert Burns by armbar on ground. Across 22 fights in the UFC, Oliveira is 11-10 (1 NC).
Oliveira's 11 UFC wins are split between 4 by knockout, 3 by submission and 4 on the scorecards. Statistically, Oliveira is more accurate with significant strikes than 83% of welterweights. A notable win came against Carlos Condit, a UFC title-fight winner.
Oliveira needed only 0:39 to beat Carlo Pedersoli Jr. at UFC Fight Night: Marreta vs. Anders, the fastest UFC win of that career. Oliveira has fought Tim Means twice in the UFC (no contest, won). Oliveira's record outside the UFC includes 4-1 in Watch Out Combat Show and 2-0 in Bitetti Combat.
Oliveira's most recent UFC appearance was at UFC 272: Covington vs. Masvidal in March 2022, where Oliveira lost to Kevin Holland.
