About Steve Garcia
Steve Garcia "Mean Machine", born in Albuquerque, United States on May 22, 1992, is a featherweight mixed martial artist. Garcia stands 6' 0" with a 75" reach, long for that height, and fights out of a southpaw stance. Garcia is ranked #10 in the official UFC featherweight rankings.
Garcia turned professional in 2013, debuting with Triple A MMA. An 11-3 record outside the UFC came first. Garcia made a UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Benavidez vs. Figueiredo in February 2020 and lost to Luis Pena by decision. Garcia's UFC record stands at 8-3 after 11 fights.
Knockouts define Garcia's UFC career: 7 of 8 wins came by KO or TKO. By the numbers, Garcia defends takedowns better than 88% of featherweights and avoids strikes better than 86% of featherweights. Garcia ranks #3 in UFC history for most elbow knockouts.
Garcia needed only 1:32 to beat Chase Hooper at UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Allen, the fastest UFC win of that career. Garcia has never been submitted in the UFC. After 19 months away, Garcia returned at UFC Fight Night: Dern vs. Rodriguez in October 2021 and beat Charlie Ontiveros. Before and outside the UFC, Garcia fought in Bellator (5-2) and Jackson Wink Fight Night (2-1).
Most recently, Garcia lost to Diego Lopes by KO/TKO at UFC Freedom 250 in June 2026.
